Steve Friess (born October 16, 1972) is an American freelance journalist, blogger, and podcaster based in Las Vegas whose work appears regularly in the Politico Pro, New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, Wired.com, The Daily Beast, and others.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.politico.com/reporters/SteveFriess.html )〕 He was among the first U.S. journalists to profile future NBA basketball star Yao Ming. Friess is co-host of two podcasts, the weekly celebrity-interview podcast “The Strip” and the twice-weekly animal-affairs program, “The Petcast.” He was named Vegas Person of the Year in 2007 by VegasTripping.Com. ==Personal== Friess graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern in the 1990s while also working as an intern at Newsday, the Topeka Capital-Journal, Rockford (Ill.) Register-Star, the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He spent 11 years as a freelance writer in Beijing before moving to Las Vegas to work for Politico. Friess now lives in Washington, D.C. with his partner Miles Smith, who is a TV producer. They have a pair of chihuahuas that they adopted from the pound in 2003 named Black and Jack.〔
